2 Radnor Firms Make Fortune 500 List Again for 2022 But Drop in Rank

Thirteen publicly traded companies from the Philadelphia region, including two from Radnor, once again made the Fortune 500 list in 2022, writes Ryan Sharrow for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Fortune 500 ranks the companies by annual revenue.

Radnor-based Lincoln National Corp. came in on the list at No. 187, down 15 spots from No. 172 in 2021. The insurance and investment management company reported a 10.3% increase in revenue to $19.2 billion.

In 2021, the company jumped up 16 spots from 2020 to settle in at No. 172.

Avantor, also based in Radnor, came in at No. 457 on the list.  It was down 19 spots from 438 in 2021.  It also saw its revenue grow, by 15.5% to $7.4 billion.

 Avantor provides products and services for the biopharma, healthcare, education, government, advanced technologies industries and applied materials industries.

In 2021, the company had jumped up 46 spots from 2020 to reach No. 438.

The 500 companies in total on this year’s list generated $16.1 trillion in revenue and $1.8 trillion in profits.

Walmart continued to have the No. 1 spot this year, followed by Amazon, Apple, CVS Health and UnitedHealth Group.
