A Chester man told a federal judge Friday he illegally entered the U.S. Capitol Jan. 6, took photos and wandered into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office, writes Jeremy Roebuck for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Lawrence Earl Stackhouse III pleaded guilty in a videoconference before U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell to a misdemeanor of illegally parading, demonstrating, or picketing inside the Capitol building.

Stackhouse, 34, now faces six months in prison after the guilty plea.

“Don’t regret one thing,” he messaged a friend the day after the attack.

Prosecutors said coworkers picked him out of Capitol surveillance footage based on his outfit—a Trump beanie and Proud Boys T-shirt.

Stackhouse had been reprimanded at work for identifying with an unspecified hate group.

Stackhouse told the judge he does not belong to the Proud Boys, which the Justice Department has said helped plan the Capitol riot.

“I don’t support them after [knowing] what they are about,” Stackhouse told the judge.

Stackhouse did text a friend a week before the riot that he planned to attend the rally Trump was hosting near the White House along with a man identified as a Proud Boy prospect.
