The Cultural Arts Forum programs have been reimagined in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic.

Until it is safe to meet again in the Fred P. Meagher Theater, programs and workshops of the Forum are being livestreamed at www.neumann.edu/NUArtsGuild.
The following programs and workshops are being offered via livestream:
- Carrie Catt, Suffragist & Founder of the League of Women Voters, Thursday, Feb. 11, 1:30 p.m.
Pat Jordan of the American Historical Theatre will offer an historical presentation. It took 72 years from the first Women’s Rights gathering in Seneca Falls, NY, to the day of the 19th Amendment movement was adopted on Aug. 26, 1920. The suffragist movement was one of the most intense and difficult campaigns in our history. Carrie Chapman Catt, successor of Susan B. Anthony, as head of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, was one of the most important indivudals in finally make it a reality. Historical impersonator Pat Jordan will portray Carried in a first-person presentation to explain her life story and the suffrage odyssey.
- Alexandra Romanova: The Last Czarina, Thursday, March 4, 1:30 p.m.
Historical presentation by Alisa Dupuy, The Ladies of History. Born a German princess, Alexandra Feodorovna Romanova became the Empress of Russia after marrying Nicholas II, the last ruler of the Russian Empire, in November 1894. Stripped of her title at the abdication of the monarch, she was assassinated by the Bolsheviks in 1918.. In 2000, the Russian Orthodox Church canonized her as Saint Alexandra the Passion Bearer. Come hear Alisa Dupay of Ladies of History as she recounts Alexandra’s spell-binding story of love, family, life’s privileges and tragedies, and her fatal ending.
- The Massacre at Duffy’s Cut, Friday, March 12, 1:30 p.m.
A lecture by Dr. William Watson, PhD., author. Fifty-seven Irish immigrant laborers arrived in the port of Philadelphia in June 1832. Contractor Philip Daffy soon hired them to work on Pennsylvania’s Philadelphia and Columbia Railroads in an area referred to as Duffy’s Cut, Chester County. All perished within six weeks. For more than 180 years, the railroad maintained that they were victims of a cholera epidemic. In a harrowing modern-day evacuation of their mass graves, evidence shows that some of the laborers were murdered. Dr. William Watson and his brother, J. Francis Watson, founded the Duffy’s cut Project. Dr. Watson currently teaches history at immaculata University in Pennsylvania.
- The Life and Music of Tony Bennett, Thursday, April 8, 1:30 p.m.
Presented by Maci Miller, MoBetter Entertainment. Tony Bennett’s life and philosophy are the embodiment of the American dream. He has been on the front lines of major issues sharing the country’s history. Mr. Bennett, who has performed for 11 U.S. presidents, is a World War II veteran who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, participated I the liberation of a concentration camp, and marched side by side with Dr. Martin Luther King in Selma to support civil rights. Throughout his life, Tony Bennett has been a dedicated pacifist and proactive humanitarian selflessly supporting many causes that ave benefitted the lives of millions. A singer, songwriter, actress and public speaker, Presenter Marci Miller will the story of this true American original.
- Virtual Designer Bag Bingo, Fundraiser Event, Friday, April 16, 7 p.m.
Presented by the Cultural Arts Forum at Neumann University. Log on, play bingo and win designer purses and raffle prizes. Our guest caller, Angel Smedley ’86, QVC online personality and sensational vlogger, will be sure to delight as we play 10 games of virtual bingo for designer bags. All proceeds benefit the Dr. Margaret Mary Kearney Scholarship at Neumann University. Cost is $40, which includes 10 bingo games and one free raffle ticket. - Virtual Spring Wreath Workshop, Tuesday, May 4, 7 p.m.
Leona Swiacki, Floral Designer. Virtually create your own very “Fresh to Dry Spring Wreath” to adorn your front door or special wall that will last into the summer months. Created with fresh greens and accents, your wreath will dry as time goes on and add a beautiful note of décor. Each participant will need a good pair of scissors or floral shears and apron. For best results, have a computer, laptop or device to view the livestream demonstration. All materials will be supplied. Once you register, watch for the floral kit pickup date and time. All proceeds benefit the Dr. Margaret Mary Kearney Scholarship at Neumann University. Cost is $35, which includes all supplies. For more information, call 610-558-5626.
