47 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Delaware County for Friday, 3 More Lose Their Life to COVID-19

As of Friday, July 10, there have been 47 additional COVID-19 cases reported in Delaware County since Thursday, July 9.

Three additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported.

That brings the total number of positive cases in the county to 7,543, with the number of COVID-19 related deaths at 709.

Of those, 566 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

Yeadon Borough has the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 435 cases, affecting 3.79 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,232, affecting 1.48 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 281 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has been assigned.

The county has had 42,618 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 82.63 percent recovery rate.

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, July 10, that there are 1,009 additional positive cases of COVID-19 since Thursday, July 9, bringing the statewide total to 93,876.

There were 32 additional deaths reported with the total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at 6,880.
