Two student-journalists at Radnor High School’s newspaper, The Radnorite, earned 2019 Student Keystone Press Awards, writes Max Bennett for the Radnor Patch.
Junior Ava Blumer won first place in Feature Photo for “High School Bonfire,” a photo of the school’s celebration held before the football team’s matchup with long-standing rival Lower Merion. It was featured in coverage of the school’s annual L.M. Week.
Junior Will Dawson earned second place for his feature story, “Lobby404: Inside Radnor’s Internet Rulerz,” focusing on the high school’s rap group who in one year transitioned from a school open mic night to paid gigs in Philadelphia.
The Radnorite is published monthly online and run by student editors with guidance from faculty advisors.
“We at The Radnorite strive to generate community through publishing work of interest to the local youth culture,” the paper says on its website.
