SAP, the German software company with a North American headquarters in Newtown Square, and Chester-based Power Home Remodeling are among Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, writes Roberto Torres for Technical.ly Philly.

SAP is No. 28 on the annual list, the same as last year.

“What makes (this) particularly special is that it’s largely based on ratings/feedback from a cross-section of our employees about the workplace culture, leadership trust, camaraderie with co-workers, and pride we take from the work we do,” said Lloyd Adams, managing director for SAP’s East Market Unit.

He said that it is exactly these people who make SAP such a great place to work.

Power, the tech-enabled remodeling services company, checked in at No. 77, up 10 spots from last year.

According to Timothy Wenhold, the company’s chief innovation officer, tech staffers at Power Home Remodeling get the opportunity to go on two-year “Tours of Duty” to focus on one area and master the required skills.

The company’s latest initiative is an internal project called the Power Code Academy. This helps transition non-tech employees into entry-level development jobs.
