Based in Morton, the Delaware County Intermediate Unit is a regional education services agency. Its mission is to provide leadership for the development of innovative and cost-effective programs to meet the needs of the county.
DCIU serves more than 70,000 school-aged students and more than 6,000 educators on a regional basis. Direct instruction is provided to more than 15,000 students enrolled in DCIU’s Special Programs, Career and Technical Education, and specialized programs.
Today, more than 40 years in the business of serving the needs of Delaware County, the DCIU has grown to provide more than $125 million worth of services through the management of 60 programs.
Service Coordinator
This positon was established for the purpose of serving as Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for DCIU Early Intervention programs and services. He/she will develop individualized education programs and coordinate services between DCIU, family, and contracted providers for classroom and related services.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Pennsylvania certificate in Special Education, and have three to five years of experience working in the field of Special Education or Early Childhood. He/she should have strong consultative and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and communicate with parents, supervisors, teachers, and agency personnel.

Program Supervisor, Early Intervention
This position was established for the purpose of planning, developing, implementing, assessing, coordinating, and supervising program services.
The ideal candidate will possess a Pennsylvania Supervisor of Special Education certification, and a Master’s Degree in a job-related area. Administrative experience is required, as is current knowledge of Federal and State Law, PA Standards, and Regulations. He/she should have proven strength in interpersonal, communicative, consultative, and collaborative skills. The person should have experience with curriculum, staff development, budgeting, and contracts.

Assistant Executive Director
This position was established for the purpose of providing leadership and coordination for the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. The AED collaborates with the Executive Director, Department Directors, and Supervisors for the purpose of creating a singular focus on developing a high-performing organization and administrative team, and coordinates the operations of various departments as assigned for the purpose of meeting the needs expressed by Delaware County schools.
He/she ensures programming in the departments is based on best practices and state-of-the-art programming and/or operations. Essential job function for this position is established leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.
