67 COVID Cases Added June 16 to Delaware County Total Since Last Reported June 14

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported Wednesday, June 16, according to the Chester County Health Department.

The health department is reporting a total of 1,455 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 839 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 48 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

New cases

The Chester County Department of Health site reported 67 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County for Wednesday, June 16 since cases were last reported Monday, June 14. Total cases for June 16 are 49,845.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 752, affecting 11.58 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 7,459 cases reported, or 8.99 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

Negative tests

The county has had 252,639 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 96.16 percent recovery rate.

  • 10 to 19: 6,062 cases
  • 20 to 29: 8,416 cases
  • 30 to 39: 7,429 cases
  • 40 to 49: 6.721 cases
  • 50 to 59: 7,500 cases
  • 60 to 69: 5,725 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,796 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,672 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, June 16, there were 312 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Total cases now number 1,209,448.

The state is reporting 17 COVID-19 deaths for Monday, June 14. Total deaths are 27,531.
